Jewish cemetery

The Jewish cemetery of Hluboká nad Vltavou is situated on the edge of theMunický pond. It was established in mid 18th century and in the second half of the following century it was gradually extended to the area of today's 1,275 m2.

A number of notable Classical and Baroque tombstones remained preserved, the oldest is dated sometime around 1750.

Jews from far and wide are buried in this cemetery - České Budějovice, Rudolfov or Borovany - it means places, where there were not any own Israelite cemeteries. Therefore, we recommend to visit it, when staying at our hotel, if you belong to those interested in Jewish culture and history.
