Museum of wood sailing in Purkarec

Museum of Woodsailing is situated in the village of Purkarec just 12 km from our hotel. In this museum you can see the permanent exhibition - the Hall of Traditions of South Bohemian wood sailing - the core of this exhibition is a collection of historical objects, tools and documents reflecting the life of the community Vltavan and the wood sailors'style of life  in the Vltava River basin.

The Hall was originally built mainly with self-help in the house of Mrs. Marie Šlechtová, later the building process took over Mr František Vondrášek - the former managing director of the community Vltavan. He also made the basic exhibits for the Hall. 

The Museum is open from May to September from 9:00 to 5:00 pm daily except Mondays.
